I love graffiti. Every day I used to walk my dog in a meandering pattern through my neighborhood in Emeryville, and every day I would pass this sign. It is located in the little alley behind my house. I love the regulated symetry juxtapozed with the anarchistic chaos of the graffiti. A metaphor for my life? Every time I would pass it I would take time to look at it and my fondness for it grew. At this time I only had a 3mg phone camera, but I was happy with that, and snapped away. I wanted to find a way to highlight the feeling I had when I looked at it and found these other architectural objects. I wanted to turn it into a photographic doodle. Something that to me is comforting and fun.
